Really? When I was in the army, Majors and Colonels would tell
me they faxed documents to me with regularlity. Almost always, they
never did. They would always pull rank and say I'm lying. Said I
lost a restricted document. Luckily the army is used to such
behaviour and the fax logs can prove that they did not send any fax
at all.
Sometimes an op spec or a DY would come to my unit to discuss
something, without bringing anything. Then the Colonel would come
along and say his DY or spec had brought all the necessary hardcopy
documentations. Funny thing is, the spec/DY would insist adamently
that he brought and passed it to me and I lost it! As usual, the
document handover/takeover form is used to protect me from court
martial.
Sometimes, some officers would pass me one document and he would
later change it and said he passed me the new document and ask why
was I looking at the wrong version. Once again, the
handover/takeover form.
Long story short, if there were CCTVs in the army, many trees would
be saved.
