A reminder that whenever humanitarian disasters strike, such as
last week's Java (Indonesia) Tsunami difficulties, or the current
Israe-Lebanon conflict in the middle east, one way those interested
in assisting is by donating through the various international
humanitarian aid agencies.
The UN World Food Programme and Mercy Corps have already initiated
action in helping the recent Tsunami hit on Java :

With regards to the current Israel-Lebanon conflict, Mercy Corps is
now preparing to aid the victims of the war.
As conflict between Lebanon and Israel causes thousands to flee
their homes, Mercy Corps is preparing to meet humanitarian needs of
vulnerable populations: the elderly, the disabled, children, and
the poorest of the poor.
Fighting has displaced "hundreds of thousands of people," the
United Nations said Tuesday. Mercy Corps staff in Beirut hope to
begin distributing relief items such as bedding and cookware within
days.
