CARS THAT ARE STOLEN IN MALAYSIA
IF you own a Toyota Rav 4, Toyota Harrier or a Lexus RX300, don't
drive it into Malaysia.
An Income spokesman said about six in 10 of the cars which went
missing were one of these models. Other cars made up the remaining
40 per cent.
Of the total number of these three models stolen, 70 per cent were
Harriers or RX300s.
Ms Wee frm ntuc also cited the Toyota Harrier and Rav 4 as popular
models among car thieves in Malaysia. Others, she said, include the
Honda CRV and Mercedes Benz models.
AIG country manager Rudi Spaan said the company received 16 stolen
car claims last year, of which 11 were for cars stolen in
Malaysia.
However, he said, there was no clear trend in their figures of
certain car models being more popular among car thieves.
He said there was a mix of small and large saloon cars, SUVs and
multi-purpose vehicles.
