Prices Increased

Poolman SG

Then who pay ?

Poolman SG

No , taxi driver never benefit anything , that extra increase has to go to the oil increase . In fact , my calculation is , i still pay a bit more for diesel than in 2002 .

Peak hour the most one cabby can get is 7 customers .. so extra only $7 , plus the $0.10 meter increase , about toTAL $7.70 ......

One night cabby paid about $25 minimum of diesel ..... $7.70 covers on 30% ... Crying or Very sad

Those who thought cabbies earn mega bucks out of this hike , so sad for me , cos the commuters need some more education to understand , the ministry just doesn't do enough to make those new poor singaporeans understand more .

How to make them understand ? Rolling Eyes

hoganrock SG

don't use oil, use water to generate power Rolling Eyes

ShutterBug SG

Then you all should know what to do next GE!!!

Urroh SG

Cannot blame govt.. blame fuel prices over taxi hikes..
Blame Govt on rising cost of living.. our pay doesnt rise with inflation lei..
How to survive.. Sad

Trust me , ComfortDelgro dare not increase further the rental , they do it , they die .

Try to increase , and they are in trouble , they had enough un-rented taxis in the back-yard , they would not want somemore to park there .

Trust me , we know their weaknesses all along , not only now .

Poolman SG

mind you , water also not chaep nowadays .

that's why i had been telling our taxi company to bring in more CNG taxi , so that the market will benefit from this , they just ignore .

ShutterBug SG

heheheee.... no ending lah i tell you...

If there are mostly CNG cabs, they will be ingenious enough to come up with charges for refueling CNG cabs!

Gov's main interest is MONEY. Nothing else.

Jader SG

This cycle will go on for at least 100 more GE isn't it? Smile
Nothing is going to change, sad to say.

Gordonator SG

Comfort Delgro of course. afterall, isn't it the responsibility of the the employer to take care of the employees? and not the commuters.

even if that's the case, the starting fee increment of 10 cents if fine, the meter goes faster is fine. but why must the peak hour charge be increased 100% to $2? and why change the peak timing from 7.30am to 7am?

rathcycle SG

Now i morning take taxi more expensive by 1 buck liao... starting fare already 4.50... if call taxi is 8.50... by the time you reach your destination... already dunno how much liao..

dragg SG

cannot lah.

listed companies have a profit target to meet.

Mr. Green

Poolman SG

Cabby are not the employee of ComfortDelgro , and ComfortDelgro is not the employer of taxi-drivers la ......

then what's their relation ?

Taxi drivers rent their taxi .

Comfort buy new taxis then rent to cabby .

Simple ?

Don't you know cabby is all self-employ ? Cabby no CPF one hor .

Poolman SG

Who bear the overall cost of oil increase ?

Those people who use it , must pay for it .

You use gas to cook , you must pay for gas .from PUB

You use gasoline to drive a car , you must pay for gasoline from petrol kiosk .

You can't expect someone else to pay for you when you use , right ?

oxford mushroom SG

So more cabbies can laze around in coffee shop until the peak period to work. The rest of the time they can watch TV and talk cock while we work.

dragg SG

taxi is unlike utilities.

if utilities increase everyone lan lan because it is a monopoly and there are no alternative.

but if taxi fare increase we can always opt for other mode of transport.

buy a car or motorcycle, walk, cycle, take mrt or buses.

Poolman SG

Please take a taxi when needed .

Taxi is for special matters , late , rushing for appointment , carry many stuff , carry babies , give birth , sick , A & E .....

If weather is hot , or rain ...... cannot take bus ? Bus no aircon ?

Cannot take MRT , air con not cold ?

Must take taxi ? Then if " must " take a taxi , must learn to understand , must pay when use . If not ready to pay , don't use .

Poolman SG

Peak Hour is the time where many people take taxi , if they don't whack it at that period , then do it when ?

Research and survey had proven , taxis in Singapore cannot meet the overall demand during this period , and due to some customers taking necessary trips by taxi , has caused many complaint that many has problem booking a cab for Airport , and thus late for flight .

This exercise is to deprive a certain % of taxi-goers to opt for alternative transport .

Then come out with more taxis ? U might suggest .....

Answer : It will cause alot of problem after peak hour period , where there is already a low demand for taxis .

The rate that taxi population is concern , it's way too much .

No taxis increase will ever meet the demand on the peak hour period .

Period .
