Shocked Wow. Thanks for sharing that - I thought Dehli was behind us when it comes to technology. Maybe this proves that, in some aspects, they have actually caught up with us...

Last week I call singnet tech dept (business line/account) and nobody answer (Your call impt to us please wait) until the problem went away. I hung up the phone. Every minute 1.4cents right? waited at least 1/2 hr

Wanted to further edit my post, but since there is already another newer post, I might as well add a new reply.

Is there anyone here living in Sembawang New Town? I ask this because I live around here, and I especially want to hear from Starhub users living in this area. If there isn't, then at least the northern region (Yishun, Sembawang, or Woodlands) may do. I would like to know the quality of your internet connection.

Oh Maria SG

They are surpassing us already, the industry for IT telecomms is booming over there.

You thought Dehli was behind us when it comes to technology? think again.

IF they are lagging they wont take movies like KRRISH.

starhub issues differ from location to location cos blocks of users share a single cable line.. diff location diff cable line..

anyway either starhub or singnet - there shld be no problems if you connect thru LAN to a router cum modem or a router to a modem then the modem connects to the net.. BUT leave the modem and router on 24/7 dun disconnect it.. unless u dun haf unlimited..

the above also solves the 3rd party software issue for singnet (win poet etc) because thru lan no software is required. most routers can b managed thru internet explorer / safari and most routers/modems have the ability to stay "always on" and "auto reconnect" to your PPPoE or Cable connection..

the new singnet plans that come with the 2wire modem cum router is pretty stable.. so that's a marked improvement from the past i guess.. but still the customer service sux to the core for singnet..

From 2pm to 5pm, I have been downloading files with an incredibly slow speed. A download bandwidth speed test from pcpitstop revealed my download speed at 5kb/s!

At around 5.30pm, then my speed returned to normal. I think Singnet needs to do some explanation.

Errmm.. here's a thought:

>> Do you think, or CAN you be 100% certain, that PCPITSTOP itself is not tagging your PC after you used their so called "services" in testing your connection speed????

Just think, can something FREE be that good? Why wouldn't they want something much more back in return? Such as tagging you, and forever able to "monitor" your online habits, and as and when send you SPAMs??

Where do you think all those SPAM senders got the email addresses from and how they did it????

I have no problems. Rolling Eyes

I think you need to check your computer instead.

I live in Sembwang and I am using Starhub MOL 6500Kbps. Its quite ok actually. Downloading using bitcomet is about 10 - 30 Kbps overall, thou there are a few time I hit 100 over Kbps(rare). Downloading a 5mb mp3 took about 3 - 5mins, not too sure as I use a downloading manager, 1 - 2 mins. Large files (maple story full installation - 400mb) took about 2hrs, using dl manager about 30 - 40mins. Playing online games or steaming movies are quite smooth overall.

Thats what I experienced.
