Yr tester got wear specs anot? I remember one who super black face and scold the candidate very fiercely one in the office regardless the candidate got pass...

Exclamation Hi hi, need some advise so that i can pass.

1) How to U-turn when u are at the 1st gear? Half-cutch and power at the same time when u-turning?

2) when passing narrow path at 1st gear (as just start the car moving), half clutch? or change to 2nd gear (but speed too low in order to change gear)?

Y nv go ask ur instructor? It's his duties to ensure u know everything b-4 u actually has ur TP.
Anyway, regarding ur qns:
1) I assume u wants to make an U-turn while u still driving on the road right? First, u hav to let go ur accelarator & step on brake lightly if u think that the car is going too fast, try to to control the speed as slow as u can prob 10-15km/hr if not wrong. No need to use the half clutch unless u stop at the traffic junction, then u hav to use half clutch method & fully release ur clutch when u completes ur u-turn.

2) U can use half clutch when u just start moving ur car. Drive as normal as in slow & steady & change ur gear to 2nd subsequently.

1) u-turn at 1st gear, then change to 2nd gear after the car is positioned in the lane... if u are not stopping prior to the u-turn, just change down to gear 2 and proceed to turn lor...

2) if u have just started moving, use 1st gear to move thru the narrow path lor... if the path is a long one, change to 2nd gear after the engine begins to rev...

as a rule of thumb for driving, change the gear when u feels the engine about to start revving. (normally this is at 3-4k rpm)... can be applied in situations 1 and 2 also...

and one more thing:be CONFIDENT and remember to look(as in turning your head and looking) into your side\rear mirrors when turning...cause i remember i taking my driving test that time my instructor tell me to always to turn my head and look and NOT just gaze wif my eyes...your instructor may cock-eye abit and think tat u not looking and deduct points...and lastly drive at a speed you're comfortable at...50\60km\h can liao...if i not wrong...

I know but i tends to hang on to half cutch at 1st gear when making u-turn after stopping at traffic light. Embarassed

i think it is ok if u think its too fast for you to handle, but as u are making the turn, u can gradually release ur clutch and step on ur accelerator, so when u complete ur turn, u have already or almost fully released the clutch. from there u can accelerate and move off.

just maintain ur cluth control when u-turning.. when turning dont. i repeat dont floor the alcerator.. maintain it.. when the car fully finish its u-turn.. just floor it.. and chg it to gear 2 once the engine rev to 1.5 – 2. very simple.. but if the green light shown.. a distance behind u and the u-turn n u r usin gear 2, just use gear 2 tap abit brake to slow down abit and just u-turn without putting pressure on alcerrator. if u feel the car shaking, means the car gng 2 stall le, juz cluth in and u-turn using gear 2.. finished the turn and just continue with your driving loh.. den tua gear 3 loh.

car shaking=low rpm= gear not suited to tis low speed= shift down gear=press more gas=rev up to approriate speed=shift up again=problem solved Laughing

Sure Very Happy , however, i got anothe question, will the tester instructed you the direction very late ....heeee , cos each time my instructor never tell me, I will ask him, heee. Laughing

Usually tester will give u instruction quite far ahead as they know what route they want to take beforehand...So it should not be a problem to you..

Embarassed Hi, i need some help on the S-course in the circuit.

I know how much to turn in, but when encountered the second curve , i am lost.

This is what i think what my instructor told me:
1) 1/4 of kerb to the door, turn all into the course.
2) when clearing the left side, turn the steering back.
3) when the front bonnet is half to the curve, turn 1 round to right.....

heee, cos when he teach me, i am very blur....therefore i need help from you all.

i supposed u noe how to turn in the S-course itself right? wat i did the other time was keep the "intersection" of the kerb with the bonnet in the middle of the front edge of the bonnet when u are in the S- course, (when u are looking in front u shld be able to see the front of the bonnet like "intersecting" the kerb ) dat will keep the car in the middle. throught out the course.. best thing is if u are unfamiliar just maintain very low speed.. so u can still correct ur mistake if there's one..

Embarassed when u mean slow speed, need to press accelerator cos, for my parking i just let go clutch to half and never power.

It's better to press a bit of the accelerator at half clutch..so the car wont be vibrating.. the engine will sound smoother too.. but not too much.. rpm abt 1-2.. i remember my instructor saying inside circuit u can just happily drive around 20km/hr... go onto the road best to maintain around 50.. hope ur timing isn't peak hour.. cos a few test routes will jam(near the Eunos area)..
