For your information, the revenue made from the roller coaster
doesn't break even for most theme parks around the world. Raw
investment of getting a second-handed roller coaster in the current
rides market is already at least US$2M, not forgetting the basic
infrastructure of laying foundation, piling works, electrical and
mechanical works which will roughly add up to US$750k. On top of
that, inventory of spare parts and steel structures are not added
into the cost yet.
From my understanding, even the world's most profitable theme park
in terms of admissions revenue, Six Flag Cleveland Park, has yet to
recover its cost for its Twister roller coaster after operating
five years, not talking about breaking even.
Not forgetting if you are talking about designing something new,
the investment cost will be definitely be more than US$3M, plus we
don't have any professional accrediation for high thrill rides that
we might need to bring in the professsionals to certify the
ride.
