Fever is the first sign of an infection, and the antibiotic are
most prob given to fight it.
Since u had mention that the doc had given you a 5 day course of
antibiotics, my advice will be for you to finish it.

You can always choose not to finish them, however, the next time
the same virus attack you again, it will be a mutated one, which
will be resistant to the antibiotic that you had chosen to take
half-way.
Normally, patients who choose to take their antibiotics half-way
will continue their habit, until one day, even the strongest
antibiotic does not work for them (or are simply too toxic).

As long as you are not resistant to Vancomycin, there will still be
an antiobiotic that might cure u.
