BEng (Honours) Electronics
Objectives
This multi-disciplinary programme focuses on the electronics
electronics manufacturing and technology industry which is
experiencing a resurgence in Singapore and the region. Sectors
which are facing a demand for electronics graduates include
hospitals, biomedical companies, multinational companies and the
public sector, in the areas of control and instrumentation,
research and development, software development, maintenance of
electronics systems, telecommunications infrastructure
management/building, manufacturing and electronics design.
This degree programme emphasises technical depth as well as breath
in its curriculum to help prepare graduates for a rewarding career
in electronics. The programme structure aims to encourage, develop
and support trained expertise with an in-depth knowledge of
electronics, telecommunications, and IT.
For Whom
The degree programme is designed for practising professionals and
graduates with polytechnic diplomas in science or engineering or
with "A" Levels. The programme equips graduates with a balanced and
comprehensive range of knowledge and skills in electronics,
telecommunications and IT.
The degree programme is also open to all students whose entrance
qualifications are not science or engineering based but have met
the general UniSIM entry requirements. Bridging courses in
mathematics and computing are available to allow such applicants to
provide the necessary academic foundation to enable a smooth
phasing into the programme structure.
