I actually went inside a Russian sub before...part of some
display thing where the owner bought it over from Soviet Union
after the Cold War and turned it into an attraction. I cannot
remember the designation, but it was one heck of a crammed...it was
a diesel sub for sure.
The other Soviet-era vehicle I had a look at was the T-62...pretty
simple instruments as compared to Western tanks. And the worst part
is that NBC-proof to the Soviets means having a layer of lead in
the interior of the tank...alamak....even if no Hot War, the tank
crew will die of lead-poisoning sooner or later man....
The AK-47, or rather, the Type 56 Chicom has a bit of a
kick...typical 7.62. Accuracy isn't so good beyond 200 metres, but
the rifle is damn reliable, and simple to strip and maintain.
Typically suitable for arming Third World
conscripts/guerilla/terrorists.
