Well, it started pretty innocently.
Until the founder "Li HongZi", who was a uneducated peasant, claims
supernatural powers, who quoted David coperfield as an example, who
believe that Alien walks and rule the earth and he has seen them
often... very often. But the catch is his does not want to show his
powers, because he is of a higher status... that's where David
Copperfiels comes in
Then there is the claims that thru his meditation method... all
illness can be cured... so FLG members are prohibited from medical
care, and by staring into the sun they would absorb power..
Of course, then they would surround the leadership residence in
Beijing overnight with 10,000 followers who later immolate
themselve including a 12 yrs old girl, with her mother as a
cheerleader... she did not survive. Later when the PR stunt went
negative, Master Li, claims that they were communist spies...
talking about betrayal.
And where is this Master Li now ???? Incidentally , he is said to
be living in a luxurious mansion in the US, comfortably from the
dough of his followers and Of course , China's long time Friend USA
supports him... like all other despot and desidents.
Hope this helps...
