Last night (080217) around 2210hrs, SMB1570A and SMB338L on 307
almost departed within 1 min interval...
When I boarded SMB338L, DDU was blue showing 7.50mins early even
though its 2 mins behind schedule..
SMB338L overtook SMB1570A at Lot One bus stop and DDU instantly
turned orange showing 9.00mins late, next bus 0 mins.
Later on, SMB1570A overtook SMB338L at Northville stop and DDU
changed back to blue showing 7.40mins early, next bus 7
mins.
Under this situation how the BC should react? There is no way
for both buses to attain green unless one of the buses (both
already late) drive slow but next bus will catch up?
If both buses already behind schedule then they just carry on
and drive I think, otherwise whichever is supposed to be the second
bus is supposed to stop somewhere (say, stop AAA) and waste time
until it reaches the time when the bus is supposed to reach stop
AAA then it departs.
I was once on svc 165, boarded the bus at Hougang Central Int
and heading towards Clementi, and the bus I was on caught up with
the earlier bus at AMK (that bus left 10 mins before my bus at the
Int). So at one of the stops along Upper Thomson Rd the bus I was
on stopped for a full 2 mins before
carrying on. For whatever reason the bus in front was driving real
slow so caught up with the same bus at the Bukit Timah Rd junction
again. Checked the DDU of the bus I was
on, turns out it was right on schedule (don't know why the other
bus is moving at snail pace)! But DDU show blue because of the slow
bus in front ...
So I think even if DDU show blue, as long as the bus is on
schedule/already late then it should be fine? Otherwise would cause
cascading delays onto the subsequent buses ...
