Colleague have to send everyone home

Hi All,

Dunno much about car courtesy... so i ask:

There's this male colleague who just bought a car (he stayed east side). Then there's 3 co-workers who also stay east side and found out about it, so they pestered him for the ride home.

Now my 3 colleagues (females) also want him to send them directly home, as it's "the same direction" (e.g Bedok, Tampines, Tampines, guy lives in Pasir Ris)

Is that appropriate, like i mean, EVERYDAY?

your friend needs some backbone for the benefit of his sanity, life & money.

i stay in tampines and study in NTU.

my friends staying in pasir ris, kembangan, bedok north all come to Tampines MRT - Tampines Mall traffic light then i'll pick them up. & i expect them to buy me lunch/drinks on some days of the week.

sometimes, it's not about being all gentlemanly. he got the car for his own use. not theirs.

and if i need to get somewhere after school, i tell all my friends i'm going out after school - not sending you all. not even to the MRT station. they wouldnt even ask me where i'm heading to. they know my style i guess.

There is something call car pooling... if they not paying, dun give them the ride...

ridiculous demand…. if this is the case, i rather be one of the free rider than be the driver….

yeah at most pick up at one spot at my timing….

pay me? sounds fair but always turn out to be not good…. cos if pay too little, waste time and driver still expected to serve… if pay too much, colleagues think driver $ minded….

best is to reject with an excuse… e.g. not sure which day not driving… need to send some family member to work first…

think of it this way… i am 200% sure if either of the female colleagues bought a car, she will not offer pick up…

Yep.....thats the problem of owning a car.

I've experiences, where this school teacher friend, purposes wait for me to return from my Volunteer Duties. And its reaching midnight.......and she refuses to be send home by the Volunteer Organisation Vans. Just die die must wait for me.

And then, got into my car, insist she is hungry and wants to go supper.

Then at the supper place, her lover will turn up to have supper with us.

Then hor....a few times liao, until its I found out one time when her husband called me assuming she was with me.

That she has been using me, my car and the supper events as covers when she goes off with her lovers.

well, working in the office, politics can be inevitable. But this guy should just say he has to fetch his family member for some reason everyday.

Anyway, maybe its okay to send the collegues to their doors this once. Just so as to let the collegues fulfilled their excuses to want to sit once in someone's new car.

But subsequently. The owner of the car must learn to work late 'cos have to feed the car'. 'appointments with clients'; 'pick g/f up'; 'pick mother to send her somewhere' and have 'early dinner appointments somewhere' to kill off the habits of these kinda parasite collegues.

actually, just have to insist will only send to near his house. Unless he is interested in one of the girls, then is an issue of investment

depend on whether they are your close friend or not.

dun feel like sending them? jus say you are going somewhere everyday will do.

dun wory about peer pressure la. it is normal in the workplace.

if they persist, then they are really haressing you. do to them what you would do to ass holes

Are the 3 colleagues very chio or what?? Kanina, your colleague is just being used by that 3 females nia...

But if he is doing it willingly, then its his business not yours... he likes to be manipulated by the 3 females then let him be... or are you jealous he did not offer to send ya home??

your colleague should one day after work round them up in his car... "hey i need to buy this first.." then go.. "eh i need to go here get that thing!"

make it into a 2.5-hour journey home by car.

once in a while is ok...but not on any regular basis.

for me...I will just tell them I have better things to do than to drop them off 1 by 1.

It amuses me how these Chinaporean can be shy and timid usually, but when it comes to taking advantage of others or 'saving money' they become bold and grow skin thicker than a rhinoceros' hide.
