Is there any way to modify 101's unidirectional Hougang St 51 sector so that St 51 residents on both sides of St 52 can get a faster journey to/from interchange? Personally I think 101's current route is really weird...

Well,LTA can't please everyone right?If they do,its a bonus else just accept as is it.Anyway how long and how far you have to walk in Singapore estates?Later they do,Others will complain longer journey etc

I think you have no idea about the loading of 101. It's main loading is not Serangoon - Hougang, but is Hougang - HG St 51/53 & Buangkok Link.

101 in AM especially gets a good 60-70 pax on each bus towards HG, where around 40-50 pax alight at HG Central, another 20-30 will go further on Upper Serangoon Rd.

People who use NEL will take 101/107/153 from Upp Serangoon Road. Those who take CCL opt for 81/82 or some use 101 from interchange. Not as simple as you put it.

What I meant is that people who take it from serangoon interchange do not travel till buangkok because it is too long. Thats cos u said it provides a link to CCL. This loading only came with the opening of the new interchange in NEX because i believe some coming from inside NEX prefer the empty bus at the aircon interchange vs 107/153/82/81 outside. I been staying in buangkok link even before 101 existed here so i knke in the past serangoon to kovan sector barely got 10 ppl with the old interchange.

I am aware of the loading that 101 has from buangkok link to hougang central, I stay at buangkok link. Most pax will travel till hougang central and some till kovan. Rarely anyone takes 101 end to end from buangkok to serangoon.

This is cos 101 is the former hougang feeder 328 from the former hougang south bus interchange. With the closing of that interchange, 101 was extended to serangoon interchange on 1 end and extended to buangkok crescent with a 3-point turn loop on the other end. The former 328 used to make a left turn from buangkok green to hougang ave 4. It used to loop at Hougang street 51, turn left to buangkok green, turn left to hougang ave 4 and left back to hougang street 51.

So i guess SBST kept all the busstops served by the former 328 and added in the 2 way extension on buangkok green/link/cresent, resulting in that weird loop. Hope this explains

Other candidates to operate from there are Routes 23 and 857. Possibly Route 970 too.

Also, it would be nice if LTA can operate a ferry service between Clarke Quay and Marina South similar to the Transperth one between Elizabeth Quay in Perth CBD and Mends Street in South Perth.

123 is already a long and winding route.

Should have just launched a new route between Sentosa and Queen Street Bus Terminal, which is actually behind Orchard Road.

By the way, what was the bus route that went to Sentosa previously?

I remember in the past, before there was HarbourFront, we had to alight at Tiong Bahru MRT station and take a bus into Sentosa. That bus was run by SBS, and if I'm not wrong, that bus had double deckers.

Those who know, do you all know what's that bus route? Is it still around, or withdrawn already? Thanks.

They used to have Mk IIIs in green livery serving Sentosa. Rego range from 625-645 IIRC. Apparently from HGDEP. When SBS Leisure took over, these buses were reassigned to regular routes.
