starblue SG poly tutorials got mini lectures?? uni one dun have leh.... they go straight to the tutorial questions. o.O dun skip lectures lah. listen then go back write your own notes to reinforce wad you've just heard.. liddat sure ace one.
browniebaobao SG If u hate ur lecturer, or ur lecturer can't catch ur attention, and suay suay he's ur tutor, then u will cry. Sometimes what the lecturer teach we really catch no ball, but lucky we have a dedicated and patient tutor to teach us slowly neh.
798 SG uni if u r lucky, some of the kind lecturers are kind enough to have extra sessions of Q&A sessions regarding lecture n tutorial questions, but too bad the mini session might fall on evening or saturday.
starblue SG nah... i always rely on asking questions right after lecture or tutorial. going to their office still must ask around where. my poly bro also cannot catch up with his engineering maths cos he never take A maths. then tell him go and ask questions after the lesson or after school he die die also dun wan. -_-"
kaeden SG lol engineering maths 101110110110101110111101101011110110101011101101010101111101 zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
ironoxideman SG lectures are hard to keep awake in cos mostof the time u’re passively listening… but its still up to you to come to sch with enough sleep
798 SG if your bro from np, he can practice his math-on-line in lab beforehand even before lecture start by copying notes in the lab. the more he do, he can gain confidence in learning process. not sure bout other polys.
798 SG some of the bright students manage to catch the lecturers' key points n memorise n catch things easily, managed to do well for their exam even they did not attain most of their tutorial. but dat can only happens if u r a genie.
YummyGummy SG I not saying that lectures are not needed.I just don’t understand why when the school can afford to have one tutorial teacher per 20 students, they must have 500 students study under one lecture? Since all the tutorial teachers have the capability to lecture this is just no vaild.
[email protected] SG lecture is for u to pontang one. both also not important one la. i never bother showing up for both, also can pass.
sohguanh SG My personal view is lecture are there to brief us on the main concepts and prinicples. It dwell on the more high level view on the subject. Once a while they will go down to details but it is kept at a minimum cuz those are to reserved for tutorials where hands on question are asked based on what the lectures taught. It is like theory in lecture and then practical in tutorials to make sure you understand the theory. I think for University, lectures can only be conducted by PhD graduates whereas for tutorial a Masters student can do the job already. Maybe that is the difference? Theory are from PhD and practicals are over-see by the Masters student? Sometimes besides teaching, PhD graduates need to submit conference papers so their time is spent between lecturing and conducting their own research. Of cuz I do agree tutorials actually make us know more cuz we get to do hands on and only from there can we appreciate the theory taught. I am funny I prefer to be taught to do backwards or so called reverse way of teaching. I like to do practicals and then from the outcome try to relate how it fit into the theory taught in lecture
[email protected] SG sidetrack a bit. Your signature very familiar. Came from a book about the Christian Massacre in the L'Oc area?
ndmmxiaomayi SG RP students will be taught A Maths. Not all chapters, mostly about integration, differentiation, a bit of vectors.
sohguanh SG sidetrack a bit. Your signature very familiar. Came from a book about the Christian Massacre in the L'Oc area? It is not self invented. I lift this phrase up from a Metallica Kill 'Em All album back in the 80s. I was very crazy about Metallica back then. Hope that answer your curiosity Btw I like Master Of Puppets album too!!!! So is And Justice For All ....
