Republic of Singapore Navy By George Kaplan

YI SG

Although informations are available on the net but that doesn’t mean you should make it more readily available. You are only making their works easier by confirming their suspicision.

YI SG

Being one of Singapore most active discussion and outspoken forum, i am not surprised if they are already here. Twisted Evil

Possible of exposing the frigate position from the launch of the onboard helicopter as well... Confused

There is a max. range the helicopter can operate from the frigate. The helicopter is not stealth.
The exposure of the helicopter on enemy's radar screen allows for enemy to workout the possible location of the frigate?

correct me if I'm wrong..

Paladin SG

ya I'm with u.

If "someone" is really sniffing around for information this forum will not be among the top 100 on his list.
He will know where to go.

Why so paranoid?

Btw I can't find anything that says Spore is adding RGM-84L ASM into their inventory on the URL u posted leh..

Laplace SG

Hmm, I only found three records of delivery of RGM-84L ASMs and they were to Taiwan and the UAE. Nothing about Singapore.

As for damien posting "sensitive information", I say Solaris has done more harm with his heighten state of excitment and abrupt request for censorship and more. Any foreign intelligent officer browsing through this thread for info (though I highly doubt so) would be more alerted to Solaris' urgent outburst than damien's post. Reading Damien's post may give the reader the impression that he might be plucking information from any internet webpage, but Solaris' outburst will make the reader think twice and dig further.

Anyway before we jump into conclusions and start pointing fingers, let damien have an opportunity to explain how he came about with the information. No need to get all worked up and start an inquisition.

solaris SG

I apologiesed for my outburst. It was regrettable that I let my anger at damien got the better of my judgement. People like him should be ignored at the forum. Once again apologies....but never to damien......unless of course he proves that the information he provides is open source...then I will eat humble pie

[email protected] SG

Actually, in another thread. Damien apparently knew what the new light tank was gonna be and posted a brief info on it. He has posted other stuff as well, most of it I’ve never ever heard before in a public forum or website. I think the moderators should keep an eye on him.

Naval Forces – Monch Publishing ( A monthly publication on Naval matters – available at DSO library )

lowem SG

Bravo, at least here's somebody who actually goes to the DSO library to read something else besides the newspapers ... just one of the perks of working there, I suppose. Besides the free parking .. Smile

paulho SG

ahem ... I already posted the article before in November last year on the israeli-weapons discussion. Confused

solaris SG

My apologies to you on this point regarding the Barak installation if this information is found within. Would you kindly give me the issue number? that should be an interesting article. I would also like to request for the source of the light tank information for the same reason. Thank you

5/23/1994 18 F/A-18C/D aircraft, four spare engines, 24 Sidewinder, 50 Sparrow missiles, 268,000 rounds of 20mm ammo, spares, and support

For real or not.... where is the RSAF hiding the F/A-18?

9/27/2000 Up to 100 AIM-120C Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles, 60 LAU 129A/A missile launcher, two Captive Air Training Missiles, missile containers, aircraft modification and integration, spare and repair parts, training, etc. for $85 million

Very cheap leh.

Think this information not reliable.

lowem SG

Up to you to think whether reliable or not.

"Federation of American Scientists". Dunno who they are. But I'd think that scientists would tend to be more likely to check their figures, hmm ...

Joe Black SG

That should read F-16 C/D Block 52. The rest of the info are correct.
