171 and 700 may be affected. When Gali Batu depot is ready 171
could terminate there while its city-bound leg gets covered by DTL
and other bus routes. 700 may be axed and its fleet divided up by
190 and 972.
If 171 gets truncated, 67 can be used as cover from Cashew MRT
to MCT, with the LTI-TAM leg of the latter incorporated into 65, as
there is already 66 between Bedok Reservoir and LTI. In fact, 66
makes the perfect DTL anchor as it runs parallel to the train line
from Beauty World to Bedok Reservoir, just like 2 with respect to
EWL and 147 with respect to NEL.
67 gets some of its heaviest loadings on the Tampines - Little
India section (even with 23 as a point-to-point alternative), don't
think that will be changed anytime soon. The most that can happen
is a split-up to cater to the load difference on east/west
side.
171 is likely to be split / truncated, more so than 67.
Whether 700 is affected is most likely dependent on 171's
rationalisation (esp due to the shared Dunearn - Newton - Orchard
sector). If 171's CBD section is axed, high chance that 700 will
remain.
On a sidenote, 973 could be merged into 75 and 970 (with 970
doing the Dairy Farm Rd section, and 75 the Hume Ave section).
