I think 700 may still get chopped since it doesn't stop outside Junction 10. 75 & 184 stopping there probably means their route to the temp bus park/ future Gali Batu ter is permanent.

LTA could be holding it off since 700 is still quite popular and I guess lobbying by MPs and residents.

Well any hypothetical scenario if 700 is chopped? residents seek help frm MP to reinstate that? personally i find it quite hard to determine

There is still going to be complaints if 171's link from Upp Bt Timah to Yishun and inner parts of Bukit Panjang is not compensated. Thus I think the best solution is to merge with 41.

There is 963. The few stops along Upper Bukit Timah where solely 171 connects anyway have very low loading.

171 will get cut but it will be part of a larger DTL rationalisation program mid next year.

I don't think 700 should be chopped. Loading has increased again and even DDs are doing well on this service.

True. And there are speculations that 171 will be chopped, but also quite hard to say, maybe chopped till somewhere along bukit timah road? Coz there are ppl in yishun who uses it connect to bukit timah

By the fact that 700 is using double decker buses, it already proves that the route is popular and won't be removed or whatsoever.

171 can be axed though. Considering it is duplicating most of Downtown Line stage 2, and 857 at Yishun is also providing the connection to the city centre, the only unique section of the route is between Bukit Panjang and Yishun.

171 can be shortened to Bukit Panjang and absorb 973, to become a loop service that originates from Yishun and loops at Hillview.

Well there's no problems with services terminating at rival operators' interchanges. 110, 117 and 180 for example. Besides, Yishun will still have lots of other SMRT services after Seletar handover. A Yishun -- Jurong East route can be one of them.

the old 382 was Eunos to Kg Ubi and 63 loops at Circuit Rd. later intro 63M plying the old 382 + Circuit Rd.
