I'm one of those who have always typed in full sentences in SMS. Shortcuts and thinking up them, just took me longer..

Heck, no one said it was entirely Chinese.But the very fact is that by virtue of population density, the statistics are skewed towards our race.

And I can't say I'm impressed with the spillover of such lingo into the academic arena.If you are one of those who cannot differentiate between usage modes, I think you should lay off the masticated lingo and start practising standard English.

Pidgin english is a type of english that is created which is unique to the country in which it was born. I told my tuition student that if he wanted to improve his English, then he has to start using proper English in his SMSes and MSN messages. His SMS lingo had made its way into his compositions, and I was sick and tired of having to penalise him for using 'tonite' instead of 'tonight', and '4got' instead of 'forgot'. Rolling Eyes

He went Shocked Shocked Shocked as though I had just told him to catch an albino pigeon and feed it with yellow jaundiced worms.

Elsewhere, my neighbour once rebuked me for using proper sentences in our MSN conversations and that she can't stand the sight of my starting every sentence with a capital letter. Rolling Eyes

Needless to say, I told her that she only had herself to blame when she got a C6 for her GP.

When I first got my hp, I started smsing in that way. Then I got sick of it and started using the dictionary function and it helped me get rid of the bad habit Mr. Green
