I got a strange feeling after the old bendies is retired,there will be another small number of bendies purchased by LTA.Maybe 30-40 units the most...especially for height restrictions service

300 now 60% rigid, 40% bendy fleet

302 is coming close to 50% bendy and 50% rigid fleet

979 is 90% DD and 10% SD

I don't think that many bendy anymore... Some days 4 bendies, some days 5... this is what I observed when I was doing a project in CCK-BPJ area. Loading also has dropped for both 300 and 983 towards CCK (still high but not as high as it used to be). On contrary, 983 is going packed to door towards BPJ and that's where the DDs are getting v well utilized.

Due to those Yishun feeders getting massive DD upgrades instead of the trunk services, all thanks to the stupid Seletar package coming up.

Unlike WLDEP side that has a stand of not deploying DDs on feeders and intra-towns.

Sooner or later Wldep also have to use DD for their feeders,it's a matter of time unless LTA bought more Bendies for feeders.I don't mind long distance feeders/Intratowns using DDs...but not those short distance that usually pax board for less than 5 stops..

IMO that's not a valid argument. For instance, 807 cannot survive without DDs, 806 needs the DDs for PM more than AM. 800/811 has very few DDs (1 or 2 on most days), 803/805/812 have none, 804 have a few.

AMDEP needs to take in more DDs and kick out more rigids from its fleet.

800 804 806 had been using NWAB old bendies all those while, similar to Woodlands feeders as SMRT has a stand of not deploying DD on feeders for now.

It is the upcoming Seletar package that Yishun feeders benefitted using new DDs while Woodlands side continue to use those old bendies. Ended up the old bendies from 800 804 806 are running around other services now (including 857). 811 812 still using bendies though.

Thats because 171 route is not DD-able and there are not enough A24's to go around.

To me it's surprising mainly because people here keep saying how 171's demand have dropped so much after DTL2 and that it will be truncated or split... Pretty amazing it's still keeping the bendies.

Well, you need to observe where the loading comes from. 171 is the only service connecting BPJ to Yishun town. For Woodlands, you have 187, 963, 966 with HC fleet and superb frequency. On contrary to Yishun, only 171. There are timings when rigids cannot tank the load. It is not for the BPJ - Marine sector that they ply the bendies.
