Why is the demand between Tanah Merah and Upp Changi (I presume MRT stations) heavy? The two Expo stops don't see much demand, and the other two have 12/31/38/47 alongside.

Even if so, why put bendies on 24 for the entire route? Might as well introduce a short-trip or add DDs to 12/47?

I recall 24 already having fairly high demand between CGA and Tanah Merah before SUTD opened... And many pax don't just alight at Tanah Merah, while sometimes you have another crowd boarding at Tanah Merah to New Upper Changi Rd (if it comes before 2/9/31/35). This might justify bendies on 24, although I agree that bendies can be put to better use on other airport services, if possible.

Now you’re talking...24 high loadings mainly is along this sector,Not all the way to Airport.But because of the erratic traffic problems they’re facing,Its justified to put bendies also.

34 is always PGL-TPE-Tampines MRT,Then high loadings starts from Ave 2 all the way to Airport.Justified to use bendies..

27 for now is good because of the number of buses and the frequency.

53 also so far so good.

36 no need at all.36B can convert to 36M Siglap-Tomlinson-Siglap.Frequencies of 10-17 mins during peak hours and 18-26 mins during off peak.4 DD & 2 SD will do the job.

Since 860 route extension to YCK, the fleet had been operating with low capacity buses only. No more bendies or double decks spotted.

Rather, feeder 807 get double deckers instead. Probably from the previous 860 route.

Demand for 860 will pick up again in 2020 when Springleaf MRT opens. Until then, 807 will probably absorb most of 860's loadings, so the downgrade is justified...

Salah. 24 loading stretches beyond to CGA during AM peak. Particularly after the two stops after DT34, where loads of airline personnel and crew take 24 to CGA. Sometimes the bus is packed to door. Go check it out if you don't believe me, I live near one of the two bus stops.

You may also wanna hold on to your thought about 53, where half the buses still flies stops.

Yeah I’m aware of that too..Sometimes I drive svc 2 ppl transfer to svc 24 along that road.

Regarding about new feeder service 807, i dont see any bendies being deployed on this service. Deployment pattern similar to 806 except i can see bendies on this service during peak hours.

Reason is 807 is introduced under BSEP and LTA prefer DDs than bendies.

@TIB987K. Yeah true. Service 860 uses bendies after some time as the demand increases.

bendies are preferred in feeders that so effective on services 800,804 and 806 plus intra town services 811 & 812 as well in Yishun. That also includes feeders/intra towns in Woodlands and CCK too.

@carbikebus. Not just for feeder services but A24 also useful for deploying services with high loadings but with height constraints with part of the route. Service 105 is the best example besides CGA services.
