Seems quite decent. Not a SK or AMK resident, so don't know how
much such a route would be in demand or if there are better
alternative routes.
986:
Way too long, not feasible at all. Better to split into a
Sembawang - express - CBD plus a JE/Clementi - express - CBD, or
otherwise just Sembawang - JE without passing through CBD at all.
Not to mention that the twisty South Buona Vista Rd may be
off-limits for high capacity buses as well.
826:
Can refer to others' comment - I think this service can only be
realistically implemented as a premium.
997:
Interesting routing but follows way too close to the MRT between
Sembawang and Marsiling. Marsiling - CCK could be a good
alternative for those working at Mandai Ind Estate. After CCK,
follows rather close to 188/985, so may not justify loading
yet.
Hi, about 152, I hope you don't mind me sharing a bit of my
rationale:
Currently northeastern area is lacking a direct connection towards
downtown and Marina Centre via the central corridor. 857 from
Yishun also serves the Boon Keng-Little India corridor and is an
unnecessary stretch especially during rush hour. This would help to
bridge that gap (while making a detour to AMK to absorb rush hour
loading) while allowing Sengkang Central / West residents to bridge
their connection towards North-South Line at AMK without having to
go from NEL-Serangoon-CCL-Bishan-NSL or at Dhoby Ghaut for direct
NSL transfer. This is in fact targeted towards helping to relieve
passenger traffic from Sengkang/Punggol to and from the AMK-TPY
corridor on the NSL.
This will also help to relieve rush hour northeast / AMK loading
towards downtown area and shopping belt, as well as providing
connectivity to downtown and Suntec areas without troublesome
transfers.
Understood about 986, will come up with a better idea in time.
:)
I'll see what I can change on 997 - may have to renumber the route
if truncated to Marsiling-CCK. Thanks!
