What happened to all the PGL route BCs? Did they choose to
remain with SBST? All stay in HGDEP?
It is better to let a 5th company (preferably Asian) take over
Seletar. They can also run the Hougang contract when it is up for
tender. It also makes sense for Jurong West to go under TT and
Tampines to be GAG's area of control. SMRT can keep their existing
3 contracts and SBST retain the last 5. In short, SBST would have 5
contracts, SMRT 3 and everyone else 2 each. That way, nobody
controls over 50% market share because they don't deserve to.
Bukit Merah contract should take in 65 (ARBP majority) and kick
out 145 (full BRBP). Preferred operator: SBST, Depot: ARBP
Sembawang contract should take in 117 (SBW route group) and kick
out all WDL routes. Preferred operator: SMRT, Depot: MDDEP (AMDEP
turned over to SBST)
Hougang contract should take in 156 (HGDEP majority) and kick
out 117 (Orphan route). Preferred operator: 5th Co, Depot:
HGDEP
Bedok contract should take in 197 (BNDEP majority) and kick out
46 (TAM route group). Preferred operator: SBST, Depot: BNDEP
Chua Chu Kang contract should kick out 61 (Orphan route).
Preferred operator: SMRT, Depot: BBDEP (when UPDEP is ready, KJDEP
to be decommissioned)
Woodlands contract should take in 169, 963, 965, 966 & 969
(WDL route group). Preferred operator: SMRT, Depot: WLDEP
Tampines contract should take in 46 (TAM route group) and kick
out 65 (ARBP majority). Preferred operator: GAG, Depot: ECDEP
Jurong West contract should take in 174 (BNL route group).
Preferred operator: TT, Depot: SLBP
Serangoon contract should take in 61 (EUN route group) and kick
out all BSH routes. Prefered operator: SBST, Depot: KCDEP
Clementi contract should kick out 156 (HGDEP majority), 174 (BNL
route group) and 197 (BNDEP majority). Preferred operator: SBST,
Depot: UPDEP (BBDEP to assume control of Chua Chu Kang)
Bishan contract should take in 53, 55, 58, 59 (BSH route group)
and 145 (TPY route group). Preferred operator: SBST, Depot: AMDEP
(incorporating SMRT AMDEP, BRBP to be decommissioned)
