I doubt there is infra for maintenance of buses like the KUB in Seletar.. If anything they will prob have to park in AMDEP but given SBST style this will never happen..

KUBs on Yishun svcs aren't happening anytime soon..

Also, so many ADLs in storage, not surprised if they are given to Seletar.. If SMRT can take in all those fleets I see no reason why SBST should kpkb bout it. They win the package, they better not do whatever they like.

But hopefully there will be perm B9's for 851 and perhaps even one or two for 852.

How about the 15 ADL then? Surely its not for SMRT, its such a small order.. Besides SMRT alr gave up on ADL long time ago, they would have bought 15 more A95 instead..

Imagine you're new to ADL, LTA give you 15 units only, would you even take it? Or would you rather take the usual ones(Volvo)? Haha..

So I guess, they are most likely for SMRT or TTS only...

I understood..But again if cost if the deciding factor,Then TTS & GAS will stand no change againts these two incumbents.The foreign operators doesnt have any MRT,CDS,Premium or any influential shareholders.

The purpose of competition is to create more jobs to locals...Most of them are reluctant to join SBST to he honest.

That's one of the negative things about BCM, drivers jumping around companies.

Your company isn't holding onto the package for more than 10 years. Imagine, TTS wasn't awarded the Bulim package next round but another operator, so the drivers need to jump company again to stick to your service? If so to say, TTS operates the Ulu Pandan or CCK ones, will the location be convenient to the drivers?

Oh, forgot to add, presume if driver A prefers to stick to this particular service, does he/she even have the chance to promote to higher rankings if so to say the operator changed again?

When you wanna try out a new bus make you will want to first try out with a small sample size.

It makes no sense for SMRT, who alr is procuring A95s steadily and already have 100+ ADLs in service, to take in 15 ADLs for no particular reason. It isn't economically sound too.

As for TTS â they actually DUMPED out ADL, you would expect them to take back the 15?

GCM/BCM has always been about minimizing overall costs. It was created by bean counters

TTS is lucky that they came at the right time, when LTA felt that GCM needs to be seen as providing SQ level of service to make it acceptable to the public.

I think TTS dumping ADL could be politically fueled. Some of the TTS ang moh were from ADL, and they left ADL at a pretty bad note.

anyway,

for this contract, only three operators are qualified: SBS Transit, SMRT and Causeway Link. because got cross-boarder bus services, and the only ones who know how to operate this type of bus service is them.

tell me who else has experience running cross-boarder bus services besides them?

if every time a new operator (not SBS, SMRT or Causeway Link) wins the contract for this package, LTA would have to keep registering with the Johor Bahru government every five years... until the JB government not happy, they force us to remove our bus routes from their territory, then we know... we won't let that happen, right? So this tender is obvious. It's just between SBS Transit and SMRT, since only they have the license, and are interested in the Bus Contracting Model.

Just my two cents worth.

That doesn't restrict it to SBST what. SMRT also operates 950.

Are u kidding me bro? Causeway-link? No way they will even be interested in our BCM!

And carbikebus always pointed out, experience play a minor part in BCM (which i still disagree to some extent), but is the headways and freq that matters.

Tbh, how many of you guys think that SBS and SMRT are screwing up the cross-border operations so badly that LTA shld srsly consider abt giving it to other operators? (If Trans Star were to bid, if they ever were to, they might have some chance, given they also have cross-border operation experience)

Anyway, with this package, about 100 Scania K230UBs (2009/10, Euro 5) and Mercedes-Benz O530 Citaros (2011-13, Euro 5) will be able to go to Johor Bahru.
