Time to go
HOST Frustrated wonders if
her foreign house guest has outstayed her welcome.
She says: "She's now in her fifth week at our place. She eats our
food (bread, milk, eggs, fruits and whatever she can find in the
kitchen), she gets our maid to do her laundry. Our maid has to
clean up after her - does her dishes, cleans up the kitchen after
she cooks."
"Is this acceptable Western behaviour?" she asks.
fishy throws in some
philosophy: "An old uncle of mine has a saying - house guests are
like fish, after three days, they begin to smell! Throw them
out!"
mug says: "I'm sure you
know that to be like that as a guest in someone's house isn't a
typical behaviour for many cultures. Just tell her to go."

Worth watching
FOOTBALL fans are trying to decide if paying to watch the World Cup
matches is worth the money.
footsie says she did not
subscribe to cable channels showing the matches.
"What do I get if anyone wins or loses at the end of the day? A
waste of time and less sleep I guess."
agree with yorkshire boy, disagrees: "Stop
whining! 15 bucks - the best money I ever paid to see England all
the way to the quarters on penalties."
footsie is content with
watching a select few matches: "The opening match, semi-finals and
finals will be shown on the free-to-air Channel 5."
