Yes, it is exactly the same car as the Passo. Daihatsu is own by
toyota, thus, the parts are also toyota, including the engine. But
Passo is 1.0L and the Sirion is 1.3L.
As for crappinese, i would says the March probably is more
crappy.... 
I always like the GTti of the olden days, and it remains one of the
most reliable small and powerful cars of modern times.
