ceecookie SG pity nanotechnology have not advanced enough to make tiny storage disc that can store alot of data
chenc SG There is la. Just they are very expensive and theres very little market for them. I heard of thumb-sized drives storing thousands of gigabytes of data.
chenc SG Yup, and considering a blu-ray drive cost 2k sing yet PS3 is only 1k by itself. What a good bargain. Sony really knows how to make business, giving out blu-ray drives so cheap with its console, so it can sercure the market.
chanff8 SG Eh? HD-DVD lab-tested 400GB successful? Hm... Didn't catch up with the news. I know that Blu-ray's maximum capacity is higher than HD-DVD. IF they manage to get the reading and writing speeds high enough, these discs may even be used for booting up an entire computer system in the future. Who needs hard disk when you can have a CD-R size storage medium of 400GB?
chenc SG Thats a nice idea. But 1 big barrier will be that disc has shorter life and is not as reliable as drives. But who knows, anything might just happen
dark_snowboy SG hard drive will have so much storage in the future you cant count and the storage space is negligible lugging around a cross cable and a laptop is the way to go now
