Let me understand this better; the man drinks & drives,
crashes into Police car, drove without due care (or carelessly),
and is only subjected to $5000 and possibly 6 months jail? For
driving without due care, $1000 fine & or 6 months jail
term??
Could it be his achievements?

If found guilty, the businessman may be fined S$5,000, or jailed
for up to six months.
