Malaysian national service uniforms

Blockhead SG

I guess the Malaysians were telling the truth when they said the military aspects of NS in Malaysia was minimal..... Blue Camo?!

Btw, i posted this is for your info only....

I understand this might attract some 'less positive' remarks about our friends up north, but let's try not to go overboard, ok?

Some other countries use this blue/grey urban camo pattern for internal security forces, and its quite effective.............but I also see the same camo patterns and colours in orchard road as well - as fashion statements.

Still - its not as bad as the fire fighters - they use orange/red/brown camo in Malaysia. One wonders if they try to blend in with the fire.....................

might be suitable for urban warfare…

AFAIK, MY’s NS system is only for 6 mths, some basic military training & lot of National Education, maybe something like our NCC.

Their uniforms sort of reminds me that they are like NCC for students and not really for military.

Situation is dynamic. Now it is just National Education. After the populace is use to the idea of having national service and when they have more budget, it is not difficult for them to push NS to be more military.

Like the previous member stated, there are many types of urban camouflage being tested, just like a few years back where the US Marines trialled the bacon and egg urban camouflage.

Malaysia uses a different type of camouflage for green ops.

i agree. To add i think they are kind of just doing this to put propaganda into the heads of the next generation to help contain the growing influence of radical islam views and even PAS views in Malaysia.
