mhcampboy SG hmm...i always turn on my comp almost 24hrs a day. my mum keep complaining and nagging that electricity consumption is high. Is it really that high? Is turning computer 24 hours a day takes up a lot of electricity...? if on average a person switch on a computer for 24/7...wad would be the cost of bill like??
mhcampboy SG ermmm...i dunno. i just leave it on even though im not using it. the only time i will switch it off is when im going out....
cannonprinter SG i used to on my com 24/7 until my mom bua tahan scold me because of high electric bill...
sohguanh SG but how high is high?? Simple. To prevent your mum scolding you, you go tell your mum the house every month electricity bill you pay then you will know how high liao lor
Ah Cek SG lets look only at ur monitor power comsumption. assuming is 2.5A, 230V ur monthly electricity bill is abt $70
^tamago^ SG off the monitor and anything that generates a lot of heat, like cd-rom drive with cd inside spinning etc. if doesn't help means tat kind of bills is the minimum u have to pay liao~
mhcampboy SG wah...my monitor alone 70 ar!!? hahah so much. now can understand why always kenna nagging....
Ah Cek SG ur mom can calculate better than u wor. assumption: power factor = 0.8 electrical tariff = $0.21/kwh
mhcampboy SG so if i turn off the monitor when not in use… i can decrease the cost of the consumption??
Ah Cek SG fridge's compressor cuts in and out, so the electricity consumption varies. if dun open too frequently, u can save quite a pile
