Hope 167, 980 get 2 each for AM peak towards city and PM towards Sembawang.

Maybe 4 each for both would suffice. I personally stand all the way from Orchard to Sembawang on a SD and not many people who sat down alighted = Long distance commuters

Yes but whether it is 83/119 or 852/853/859... they don't need bendy or DD. It is a luxury. Contrary 851 desperately needed the DDs/bendies and SMRT really spoilt this high loading service. People stopped using 851 for long distance because of the shitty service levels.

For 859, u can tell the people in Yishun who see high loadings from Sembawang to Yishun daily

The thing is, 859 is the ONLY bus which enters the insider areas of Sembawang. There is a significant amount of people who take the service as the flats the bus service passes by are all 14-21 storeys. With more 14-15 storey flats almost completed, the load is definitely going to increase. This service is actually to serve those residents like me not served by other services and nothing more. Go observe the loading my friend. It is strictly SD loading even if it goes to inner parts of Sembawang. 856 is the preferred choice and there is 859A/B to supplement on its high loading sector.

Maybe after Sembawang Crescent flats develop, there maybe a need, but the call to upgrade should be taken when it is needed and not waste resource.

962 is the one that has been poorly treated like 851 with constantly downgrading bendies and in turn having to implement 962B/C

The missing link is to Tampines/Pasir Ris. Many residents go there which is why bus 39 is overflowing as it is the only bus to PSR. Not to mention its an expressway bus too

sv39 not overflowing anymore. The DDs on sv39 contrary to what was thought aren't doing that great. Hence, after DD introduction more than a year ago, still doing with 4 DDs and no fleet add as well.

I am referring to the loading from Yishun to Sembawang at night. From Yishun, the load is moderate, but once hit SSC, loading becomes high because of what TIB585L said

True.. that's why you have 859, otherwise there was no need for it. All I am saying is as of today, 859 doesn't need bendies/DDs and is doing well. The highest loading part for 859 is within Sembawang town itself where you have 859A/B.

True. 859 freq is still okay outside yishun. only see the bus crowded from chong pang/SSC then the crowd dies down inside sembawang. SD still can tank ah, never ever see 859 pax got left out

You should do weekday AM/PM - that will give you the best picture. Also when you do the loading analysis, do note the bus in front and back.

Sometimes it is possible, one bus is late and loading is high, and there is a bus right behind. This does not give true picture so has to be taken into consideration.

Like there was a time I saw 61 pax board sv 324 at HCI and then realized the bus was 06 mins late and in 04 mins there was another 324 that took only 23 pax. It surprised me that for such a short feeder also there could be 06 min delay.

Agreed,859 got 11 buses running fine and loop at Yishun.There is also 859A/B to supplement the Sembawang sectors.

SMRT has too many excess rigids. Seriously they should just return all those 'SBSMRTransit' Citaros to storage.

969 has 9 of them (minus the 2 extra SDs). SMRT should just cut 5 rigids/SDs on 854, and use them to replace the Citaros on 969. For the other 4 Citaros, just upgrade them to DD.

Agree. Some Shitaros, Orh Cee's and A22's can be sold to other countries like Thailand to bolster their aging fleets.

Removing 21 Citaros (and TIB832Z) from service should not affect SMRT much, since they already have an excess of A22s and bendies.

And I hope those 21 Citaros will go to the future Seletar operator as training fleet, and there will not be any more Citaro purchases.

SMRT has quite a lot of A22s that have not entered service yet. Those can replace the Citaros as well, although they are lesser in number than the Citaros.

You forget that Yishun 850E,851,852,860,feeders and Intratowns is in the BCM and all of those svc have majority SDs.Those DAFs,O405s will be gone this year.So sell those ageing OCs,A22s and Shit Taros solved all the problems?Furthermore SBST also have non WAB SDs to be retired also,So LTA fork out $$$$$$$$ again buy new SDs again?

Not sell ALL la. At least not to the point of having to spam SD's on so many services. There also arent a lot of SB220's, O405's left (less than 50), I am sure the new Shitaro's and A22's outnumber the outgoing NWAB SD's.

Reduce SD but increase DD. Everyone happy
