U mean there are more than 1 DD? Replace SD or Bendy slot?
I didnt say there are height restrictions along 851 route and
didnt think so... someone else did. But thats not important.
851 just one of the last priority for SMRT.
Now lets hopw 167/980 can get some too.
I would say that 851 is one of the most well treated service all
these while.
In late 1994, Tibs started rolling out new air-conditioned 0405
fleets and 851 was the very first to get them.
In 1996, Tibs rolled out its first zero step buses (NAC Scania
Elbo) and 851 also got most of them.
In 1997, Tibs started rolling out new bendies into its fleet and
851 was also among the first to get capacity upgrades then.
In 2000, Tibs rolled out brand new Habit bendies and 851 was
also among the first to get them.
In 2008, SMRT started rolling out new Merc OC500LE WAB fleets
and 851 was also one of them getting new fleets. 851 was also among
the first few SMRT service to go WAB.
However when came to double decker fleets, 851 couldn't get them
initially was probably due to Yishun interchange as well as AMDEP
infrastructure constraints.
Compared to 854, dun forget that 851 actually started bendies
much earlier before 854 started getting them (that was in March
2000). When come to double deckers deployment, 854 got to get the
DDs first, probably because 854 had too many old bendies and they
need some of these new double deckers in order for 854 to go WAB
then.
