errrmmm, the above groups i mentioned are mostly christian deviations (Jehovah Witnesses) or recognised cult groups (like Sheperd's Chapel). Of course, the New Age Movements will be a bit subjective but I shant comment on that. Basically, Christian Deviations seem like the real thing because some of the central doctrines they taught are similar to the christian faith but yet there are some very important doctrines which they resist or altered. For example, Jehovah Witnessess believe Jesus Christ is God but however they teach people to not take up arms, to not see doctor when sick etc, these are out of biblical teachings.

Cults are outright self explanatory, they claim that their leader is from God and most likely the leader have secret agendas. THey are likely to be a closed community because they will believe that outsiders will INFLUENCE them. Cults will end up bad. Examples? Remember Davidian Branch? They committed mass sucicide. Avoid them.

Some of them are very open, some of them may be underground. One very obvious one is have you ever seen Ang Mohs wearing white shirts very neat and formal and have a name tag on their shirt around singapore esp around novena and newton area? They also carry a bible and a mormonic bible around, they are the mormons.

Jehovah witnesses have their service on Saturdays and mostly are in homes. And is someone come your house and try to sell you some story books, or identify themselves as International Bible Institute, they are likely to be JW.

well basically The Raelians are pretty much fanatics about Aliens.

They are very wrong and dangerous in that they use the bible to twist and fit into their beliefs.

Some examples of their interesting twisted beliefs:

- When the verse in genesis that says, .....God created the heavens and earth.... the Raelians interpret that the hebrew word for God, Elohim, means those who came from the sky, so aliens naturally was believed to have come to earth and found earth suitable for an experiment to create human beings.

- when Moses saw the burning bush, they interpret is as a rocket hit the ground.

- The Noah's ark is actually a spaceship according to them

- Satan is an enemy alien who opposes the creation of humans by aliens.

Just avoid them.

Basically, they have different teachings on theology.

wow thats a thin line to thread...no offence to catholics out there but basically ya there are major doctrinal dfferences. I will talk about some of them.

1) Christians believe that we are justified by faith in God alone as said in Romans 3:28. But Roman Catholics believe that faith alone is not sufficent as said in Council of Trent, Canons on Justification, Canon 9.

2) We believe the bible to be the sole authoratative word of God and if anyone were to add or take away words from the bible, they will be judged by God as in Revelations. But RC believe that that the BIBLE needs to be treated equally as the TRADITION, which claimed it contains revelation to the church over the years.

3) We believe that all sins are forgiven as said in John 19:30 that the work of justification and cleansing is done completely by Jesus. But RC believes otherwise that we have to suffer in Purgatory (a doctrine unheard of in the bible) to wash away sins that were not by the death of Christ. This is a direct insult to Christ death on the cross.

Thus we can see major differences in doctrines in the authority of Christ. There are many more. I am not condemning Roman Catholics but just bringing out biblical references to what I believe.
