the most powerful variant of the 4A-GE comes in the AE111 body
shell, most popularly in the sprinter/trueno guise. the engine
itself evolved in the mid 90's, around the same time as when the B
series engine honda was using matured into its B16A4 incarnation.

i know this engine. but u apparently couldn't even tell me which
car the engine came with nor its specs to rebutt my points
factually.
ur flippant use of "xxx"s only tell me dat u dun know which engine
u are toking about. normally, ppl who know their engines quote the
whole engine name but in ur case, i dunno y u didn't.
some versions of the 4A-GE come with 4 valves per cylinder and
their max power is rated at 100 hps. why dun u quote these 4A-GE's
to compare with those B16 that u claim produce less power? the
lowest powered B16A1 has "at least" 160 hps which beats the craps
outta the 4A-GE with a pathetic 100 hps.
i sound arrogant because i don't hesitate to flame noobs who
come here to talk smack when they know zits to begin with.
fyi, the B16A4 doesn't come port and polished. honda only hand
ported the B16B type-R heads which is why they command a premium
over the B16A4 which were mass produced like the 20 valve 4A-GE's.
if honda hand ported every B16A head they made over the years, they
would have to employed 100 times more employees in their factory to
do that. ever used ur brains before ur use the term "All Sir and
type R engine are ported and polish and heavily modified.... "?
fact is, they are production engines just like ur 20 valve 4A-GE.
time 2 face up to it instead of making excuses for urself that
honda "heavily modifies" their engines.
dun u think u are slapping urself in the face? toyota needs 20
valves to produce 165 hps. honda used some clever cam lift trickery
and produced 170 hps with only 16
valves. need i say more?
we are talking production engines here. if u wanna talk bout
modded, the top fuel civic type-R puts out 550 hps.

i use hp per displacement to show how effective vtec is at
making power compared to other car manufacturers like toyota which
u claimed "beat honda in recent years". until now, u still have
nothing to prove in this aspect. this thread is about which is
better. vtec, vvti, or mivec? go read the thread again if u are
lost.
i wasn't talking bout which car was faster based on power to weight
ratio. an idiot can tell u a car with higer power to weight ratio
would be faster.
