as for phuket, that's one of the destinations of the cruise ship.. the others being Port Klang and Penang...

may bring some Thai Baht to go help the economy of Phuket there a little.. direct injection of some funds for their local economy.. that's the least i can do when i'm there...

remember my plans for the giant trip around europe which went to heck when the Euro started to rise like mad and then i could not afford the trip anymore? well, i figure i'm going to turn that $$$ into smaller trips and a downpayment for a cheapo car Wink

a bunch of people travelling together can be a bit "dangerous"... Laughing ....from my experience, the nicest people can turn into real pain in the butts on trips....
my cousin is the nicest guy but when we travelled .....sigh........
I had a headache everyday, it took 1/2 an hour and a major discussion on the table just for him to decide to order Singha Beer over Chang Beer or Tiger Beer..... Evil or Very Mad

slowly save, sure can make it one....put at least one dollar a day in a piggy bank just for travelling....you'll get there... Wink

plus look out for good deals in the papers...my trip to Krabi was really cheap cos Silkair had a Promo..only $128.....and tickets to Phuket now are only $9.90 on Tiger Airways....theres always promos going on now cos of the stiff competition in the aviation field....great for us Very Happy

as for people who will turn into pains.. and there are those who are absolute joys to travel with... tough thing is to figure out the difference Razz

well, i went travelling with friends before and they had no complaints... probably coz i very "chin chye"... and most of us were burnt out anyway (that's why the vacation) so all we wanted to do was to vege and drink beer on the beach Razz

and honghong, care bear's right.. just put away a couple of dollars a day... you'll be there in no time especially with Valuair, Tiger and Lion or whatever budget airlines fighting tooth and nail right now Wink
