I'm a regular traveller to KL.
I usually stay outside KL (at PJ Hilton) because its easier to find
(its just on the highway) and you get to miss the often-crazy KL
traffic. PJ Hilton is just on the Klang highway, 10 minutes from
Mid-Valley mall and is very reasonably priced too. And near Sunway
area also. But there aren't many interesting places around that
area (except for a secretarial school just beside it - but I
wouldn't recommend this if you're going with your gf or wife).
If you're intending to use the Hilton, don't book through their
website. Look through the phone book to get Hilton's Reservations
office here (somewhere at Beach Road). They have better rates than
the website. Breakfast at the Hilton is fantastic too, if you like
eating.
Subaru is safe lah...because they don't have many Subarus there, so
your spare parts no value to them (unless they want it for a
joyride). Long time ago, I used to drive a Legacy 2.2
4WD...whoooh...that was a very stable car, even on wet roads. No
aquaplaning at all because even if you have 1-2 weeks on water,
there are 2-3 drive wheels left to drive the car.
