zichuan SG Ok, i am helping my friend to find out something, hope you guys can share around you experience on rented car. Because i dont rent car, i cant help him out. His problems is "what to do when u had rented a car before/after" He intend to know what to buy? parking coupons cashcard If you guys out there got experience please help to elaborate more on it. Thank you, Regards,
nazgul247 SG Hi, you can advice your friend to buy parking coupons and cashcard, those are the 2 main things he will need. But for the parking coupons, he may need to consider which type to buy. There are those 1/2 hr, 1 hr and also overnight one (start from 10pm till 7am).
free4ever SG Apart from parking coupon and cashcard, these are the things that you need: Before: (on the time of collection) - Check with the Hirer the terms and conditions if you still are aware of yet, things like excess, insurance coverage, petrol usage, time of return etc - Check the condition of the car with the hirer (or point of contact), make sure that the hirer is aware of any scratches or dent on the car before you drive off - Rental rates to pay the hirer After (when you drive off from the hirer) - Parking coupons, what you need is actually $0.50 half hr and $2.00 night parking. - Cashcard, make sure sufficient funds to last your for the period of rental ($5.00 per day will be quite a good benchmark - subjected to individual usage) - Street directory if not familiar with the roads After (when you return the car) - Make sure any refundable deposit are returned to you as stated. - Check the level of petrol and top up the require amount before returning
tastybanana SG think the most important is the contact agreement.. coz last time I rent from someone else.. he actually had a milage striction of 120km.. I was inform about that… but didn’t knew about the fine stated in the contact.. end up having to pay additional of $250 b.coz of the milage excess ONLY
tastybanana SG private car owners.. he ask me to sign a contact.. but as we are both in a rush.. he didn't explain to me clearly about all the term/culses.. end up paying almost 200+ for a day of car rental from him..
tastybanana SG hey got some question hope someone with relevent experience could answer me.. let assume I rent a car.. everything ok when he pass to me.. but when I drive for two days, the front light light suddenly spoil, car suddenly break down, will I be require to pay even though it's not my fault(since I didn't spoil them) and is it advisable to rent a 92 honda civic esi for 2 weeks?
tastybanana SG I did souce out already.. but too be frank, his the cheapest and most 'lookable' car that I think I will be renting from him.. however, do you guys think it's really 'worth it'... will the car break down like when I was driving half way ahaha
