yeah for weddings, the purpose was to gather and celebrate the
new beginning. For india weddings, its not even a necessity to
"pao" anything but usually people bring gifts to bless the couple.
But things might have changed.
I had a office colleague who was such a pain in the backside to eng
everyone. She was mean, rude, spiteful, arrogant and everything you
cannot stand in any person. Then she announced she was marrying her
rich scholar bf and gave everyone, even new team members and the
cleaning lady her wedding invite. Everyone sat down and discussed
that they hated her guts and would never attend the wedding. We
also know she just want us to "pay" her money cause she also know
we will never attend. So we all donated $20 dollar each and bought
a voucher $240 and gave it to her. Such a kind of wedding, eat
already will get indigestion. I don't feel like blessing her with
my presence. After the wedding she went back to her b!tchy ways as
if we all owe her a living. What a low class b!tch.
Motivation matters, even for weddings.
