SpecOps87 SG Hi, just wondering what are the penalties that an employer will face if they to not contribute to the employee’s CPF?And also, if by signing a form which says that you understand that they(employer) need not contribute to your CPF, is that document legally binding and as such, they need not contribute?
vince69 SG If got sign document, then binding lah, else, if employer failed to contribute employee's CPF, employee can go MOM to complain, and MOM will go after the employer for the money (if persistance offender may also be fined).
photo_seeker SG If you’re signed that agreement, you are legally binded not to be paid CPF should the company doesn’t wish to.
king108 SG I thought CPF is compulsory for all singaporean worker? My Chief Clerk, a HR expert told me this. The document is useless if go to CPF. He told me that also. He even reminded me of cunning singaporean, which I must believe him.. So, only the law can allow that. Employee pay yourself..Employer pay his part will do. Then you still get 13% in CPF while your family get 20% extra.. Wouldn't it be better?
crispylips SG Some employer can don't declare employee's existance. Then don't have to pay cpf for them......
crispylips SG but employee need to accept the offer first also right? when they sign the appointment letter.
ditzy SG Assuming that part is done, both employee and employer have signed and confirm agreements in the appointment letter, what's next?
crispylips SG Then GET TO WORK!!!!!! lor......i think this mostly applies to foreign workers or foreign talents who are not aware of the system here. can it be? But work permit still need right?
SpecOps87 SG But have read that the document though signed is not legally bound. Also, does anyone have any idea if I can charge the company for opportunity cost as they held back one of my payments frm Oct 2005 till now. And have also accused me publicly for stealing merchandise from the outlet which I've been assigned to, which is actually untrue. As such its totally humilating.I went down to the outlet today and spoke with the staff and the dept. manager and they said that there wasn't such an incident at their outlet during my attachment with them. Please advise me.Thanks
king108 SG Then how to make the account right? Payment to nowhere? cannot be right..can enlighten me.
crispylips SG I myself has no experience of this. But if i am the employer, i will just declare no. of staff as less than the actual figure. example 10 in the company, i only declare 5. the other 5 i sign agreement to give them more salary with no cpf. Then every month i pay them using cheque lor. workable? MOM cannot check one wat…..
