Blue Stardust SG The library have this service......i did not know....that mean i can borrow books in orchard lib and return them at pasir ris lib???
dragg SG yes, you can return the books at any library. the books will then by held in transit. it cannot be borrowed until it is back to the library where it originated.
dragg SG no. the book is considered 'in transit' if it is returned to a library that does not own the book.
ditzy SG So suay suay I go this branch don't have the books coz the books i want is in transit at the other branch?
dragg SG check online before you go. reserve the book to be sure. i find it a real hustle to travel all the way from one corner of singapore to another just because that library is the only one that has a specific book.
ditzy SG I find it a big peeve checking for the book, knowing its there, but gets taken when I arrive.
Wanda SG You're right, for e.g. there are many more expensive art and design books at the NLB at Bras Basah (within the arts belt), many of which you don't find at the regional libraries. Having 1 copy of each book only won't be enough to cater to users.
dragg SG the library at bugis is the odd one out. all the other libraries are generally the same, thought they operate very differently.
dakkon_blackblade SG The National Libraries are getting better-stocked. They get new titles faster and more of them too.
Apex-LW'21 SG Most of Singapore Collections & older books are commonly found at LKC Reference Library… it also consists of Closed Stacks & Rare Collections Materials.
