Users of messaging app WhatsApp will soon be able to
make video calls, once they upgrade the app in an update that will
roll out globally over the next few days.
WhatsApp's over one billion users across all three
smartphone platforms - Android, iOS and Windows - will be able to
chat with and see their contacts through the video platform.
When the feature is added, users can open up an
existing message thread and tap the phone icon to bring up a list
of two options: voice call or video call. Selecting the video call
option will prompt a video call.
The feature was first introduced in beta for some
WhatsApp users in October. Singapore users can update their
WhatsApp app over the next few days through their respective
devices' app store to start using the video-call feature.
