From amongst the various countries that form ASEAN, Singapore is
by far the most respected country in South-east Asia that is
accepted by the USA.
Singapore's views are sought by the US Government, as Singapore's
views - (on affairs of states, actions and reactions of the various
ASEAN Governments) - are based on calm and professional assessments
that provide a detail and in-depth picture of our fellow South-east
Asians.
We understand our neighbours better then anyone from outside this
region.
Our ability to convey our views in EFFECTIVE ENGLISH has helped to
further our valued position with the US Government.
Our offer of the use of Changi Naval Base to the US Navy - (when
every other ASEAN Countries have shunned the US Armed Forces) -
have made us a valuable partner to the USA.
We are the only country in Asia that has received the approval to
purchase the Longbow Apache AH-64 Assault Helicopters; when Korea
and Japan do not own such a weapon platform.
I will not be surprised if the Tomahawks or some other Cruise
Missile is in our arsenal; and twenty pieces will be good for a
start, and with some ingenious engineering, we can build our own
Cruise Missiles; as what we have done with our own ST Designed
RPVs.
