How good is a MOAB?

Master -_- SG

I was reading an article about the Massive Ordnance Air Blast (/Burst) Bomb and find it interesting with regards its deadly potential as a dangerous non-nuclear bomb. Looks huge. Any country used it yet? Mr. Green

Very good , provided that the the aircraft ( Charlie Aircraft )dropping the bomb can evade SAMs pouring at it.......

Not every war is another Iraq........... Mr. Green

Used in Iraq liao…..but it’s more of a morale dropping effect then it is destructive. The FAE is the more dangerous 1

Master -_- SG

since its huge.. what aircraft is capable of deploying such bombs? u mention charlie aircraft.. whats that?

sorry...i know nuts abt the prowess of military technology Mr. Green

IRAQ: FUEL-AIR EXPLOSIVE BOMBS--A THREAT TO INFANTRY

IRAQ IS KNOWN TO HAVE FUEL-AIR EXPLOSIVE (FAE)
BOMBS, WHICH CAN RESEMBLE CHEMICAL BOMBS IN
APPEARANCE AND OBSERVED EFFECTS. SUCH BOMBS ARE
CONSIDERED BY SOME NATIONS AS WEAPONS OF MASS
DESTRUCTION; IRAQ ALSO MAY HAVE FAE ROCKETS. FAE
BOMBS PRESENT A SIGNIFICANT THREAT TO FORCES IN THE
GULF REGION.

Cool..thanks dale.. Mr. Green

Make yourself loh Razz
Anyway the Charile is the C-130 transport plane lah

I am told that these moab r daisy cutters are not cluster munitions.. why is that so.. since fae are fuel-air explosives..

The BLU-82B/C-130 weapon system, nicknamed Commando Vault in Vietnam and Daisy Cutter in Afghanistan, is a high altitude delivery of 15,000 pound conventional bomb, delivered from an MC-130 since it is far too heavy for the bomb racks on any bomber or attack aircraft. Originally designed to create an instant clearing in the jungle, it has been used in Afghanistan as an anti-personnel weapon and as an intimidation weapon because of its very large lethal radius (variously reported as 300-900 feet) combined with flash and sound visible at long distances. It is the largest conventional bomb in existence but is less than one thousandth the power of the Hiroshima nuclear bomb.

COOL

FAE's are like mini nukes cause the do very much the same thing but without the erm...raidation and they're bigger for a smaller punch.Clusters are bombs that when dropped open up and scatter little little bomblets all over the target area.
The Daisy cutters i believe simply make a lot of noise and a big big shockwave

Master -_- SG

i wanna use it on u la Mr. Green

lol use loh u'd prob take out 1/4 of this country while you're at it Razz

The MOAB is extremely effective, if that's what you want to know... in blowing things up.

But it's only equal to 9 tons of TNT, smallest nuke is 10 tons.

CX SG

no lah... where got so power... we'll probably just have Orchard Crater where we used to have part of Orchard Road at best... and lots of shattered windows off the epi-centre.

According to my expert sources...MOAB is.....very GOOD. I must say. Mr. Green
