yes, you're right of course, that Malaysia has the right to
build a spanking nice CIQ on their side ..... but really, we are
trying to save you money ... Singaporeans going to shop, fark,
spend money, "contribute" to the inadequate paychecks of the local
traffik polis (and get robbed, carjacked, etc ... of course), are
quite used to the old, inefficient, jam prone one .... It's very
nice of Malaysia to be so considerate of the legions of
Singaporeans who contribute to the Johore economy daily, by
building this spanking new complex so that we'll be more
comfortable (would it be faster ? .... errrmmmm ) .... but really,
there's no need to accomodate us that way, you're really too kind
.... 
but of course, it may be more to facilitate the legions of
Johoreans who cross over to work IN Singapore daily ... a sign of
the state goverment reconciling themselves to the current economic
reality ? ....
