the Apache was not exactly shot down. Word has it that it has a
mechanical failure within the engines. I suggest you take a look at
the topic...
From what I heard (of course from very good sources e.g. the Boeing
website), the Longbow Apache/AH-64D is the world's most advanced
attack helicopter. It's performance even surpassed the AH-64A
Apache, already the most advanced attack helicopter, prior to the
introduction of the Longbow Apache/AH-64D.
As far as I know, other attack helicopters like the Denel Rooivalk,
Eurocopter Tiger may have the same capabilities as the Apache but
the Apache is the 'king' of attack helicopters
However, keep a look out for Russia's KA-50 Hokum and the RAH-66
