Hi PolkaWillNeverDie, AFV Opr basically just stands for Armour Fighting Vehicle Operator, which is the driver. You will just work together with your VC (vehicle commander) to bring your section around in the vehicle for their mission. 1st year will be just section/platoon and company training, 2nd year onwards will be battalion training and then ATEC, together with your standby duties.

There are only 3 armour camps, and kranji is the best cos it is the nearest to the MRT station!! And the 41SAR mess food is nice! haha

STOMPer NSman was stunned to hear that the parents of the recent graduating batch of National Service recruits each had to pay $2.50 to attend the Passing-Out Parade (POP) held at Paya Lebar Airbase.

The POP marks the end of a recruit's time in Basic Military Training (BMT). Although seating is limited to immediate family, attendance prior to this has always been free of charge.

Ms Ng Beng Choo, the parent of a graduating NSman, wrote:

"My son's passing out ceremony at Paya Lebar Airbase on Monday was well-organised with video presentations, which gave parents glimpses into their sons' National Service experience.

"I was impressed until my son told me he had to pay $2.50 for my attendance, as did his peers for their parents, at $2.50 per head.

"Parents sacrificed by offering two years of their sons' lives to serve the nation and yet the Ministry of Defence is unable to allocate a tiny sum for the light refreshments. Is our support for our sons' National Service not worth more than $2.50?"

Based on the info above , does anyone have any idea what i will be doing ? Im PES L1B1 but currently have an ongoing medical review at an OPD due to some problem at my feet.

storeman vocation even take in PES C and E personnel... so no problem even if you downgrade PES...

Hello red ,

Thanks for the reply. I notice that i am supposed to bring my PT kit. Any reasons for this ? I have been excused from Jumping and Road marching ever since my field camp ended till PoP as it hurts alot whenever i do related exercises. Im worried that if i get into PT , it will hurt alot again since i have no more status now. Waiting for med review.

almost all storemen in camps are given the flexibility to wear PT kits to facilitate working due to frequent sweating because of moving/ transporting stuff here and there like a deliveryman... when in store semi-office doing paperwork, most wear vest slack attire.

what does storeman for comm carry? those signal sets? any outfield for them?

Depending on unit lah. Some allowed some don't but Sungei Gedong is very far, unless you stayed very near or else I don't think u wanna stay out.

Is 3 guards rifleman considered guardsman or is it just rifleman in guards?
