i had my JST in Jungle Temburong way back in 1994. was an RSAF
OCT then, service term.
we are 'thrown' into the jungle into group of 3 and are instructed
to built shelters, set traps (for iguanas, birds, etc), find water
source/food individually. each to maintain abt 20m apart, eye
contact for safety reason (possible animal attack).
instructors would spot check now and then to see our achievements.
if we were good, they would give us those animials we slaughtered
and skinned during the practical lesson. if no good, receive only
vegetables and fruits.
after 3 days 2 nights, we set off for topo exercise in group of 6,
looking for various checkpoints in the jungle.
after the last checkpoint, this mark the end of JST.
JCC...not to sure.
I think training syllabus had changed over the years ler.
