I believe from the next batch of enlistees onwards (ie. the
Mar/Apr 07 bmt people), there will no longer be direct intake into
OCS. Instead, all will go through BSLC in SISPEC first, then
outstanding performers will proceed on to the equivalent of
Professional Term in OCS.
However, I heard that for the Dec/Jan batches of each year,
recruits will still proceed straight to OCS instead of through
BSLC. This is because they want to assess the potential SAF
overseas scholars in OCS directly, as these people, if awarded the
SAF overseas scholarships, will disrupt their NS in June of that
same year to embark on their studies.
