Well Bionix is designated IFV where M113 Ultra is designated
APC, different use lay. M113 still has lots of useful live left and
lots of countries still use it to date. Even the current iraqi war
the yakees still deploy a lot of M113 APC.
SG got hold nearly 1200 odd 2nd hand M113A1/A2 hulls minus off the
400 odd ultra (aka A3) upgrade for the 3,6,9 division, maybe 200 in
1,2PDF and we still got 600 of these stuff as cold storage/spare
parts/1-1replacements hor.
BTW, I believe the rumoured 32 heavy armoured division, modelled
after the US armoured infantry division (those U see in iraqi war)
will have a force of:-
60~100 MBTs, 60~100 Bionix IFX, 100~150 M113 Ultra APC, 20~30
M109A6 SP and supported vehicles.
As for the current 3,6,9 division (designated mechanised light
infantry division), each has it's own organic armour brigade
elements consisting of mixture of SM1, Bionix IFV, M113
Ultras.
