Parachutist are mainly static line parachutist... which i'm also
not too sure what is the mechanics of how you're deployed from the
C130... but i'm quite sure the parachute almost immed opens when
you jump out from the C130
As for mil. freefall... and most are CDOs or NDU or what not, it
means you will jump off the plane and you will freefall ( no open
parachute) until you engage parachute then the parachute will
deploy. So you're free-falling for a while
